What to expect from an Experience Pilates class...
To begin with...
- Information about Pilates and the benefits it can have
- A comprehensive health screening - so you get the most out of your class. If you have limitations in certain areas it is important that I know about them so you get the most benefit from your class
- A current class timetable so you know exactly when all the sessions are running
- Lots of opportunities to ask me questions!
During your one hour Pilates class you can expect the following from me...
- Small groups - I don't and never will teach large classes - your well-being is paramount and I need to be able to check everyone for every exercise - something that cannot be done in large classes. Typically class size ranges from 8 - 12 people
- Expert Pilates tuition - even though classes are mixed ability I pride myself on being able to teach multi-level classes. What does that mean to you? Well, quite simply, I will modify the exercises (or give an alternative) should you not be able to complete a particular move, so you always enjoy full participation
- A smile and a few jokes! Life is too short to be too serious, so expect a few giggles and anecdotes along the way
- Lots of reasons why we do particular exercises - they often have 'carry-over' into our lives outside Pilates, so it is worth listening out for them!
- Prizes!!! I know the results from Pilates speak for themselves, but we always like something for free. Regular competitions are held to keep you motivated
- Weekly homework and newsletter. Regular practice gets results so a weekly email keeps you on your toes.
- I supply some equipment and always have spares if you forget
What I would like from you...
- Turn up each week to class and fully participate!!
- Bring a mat and small hand towel
- Let me know if you have any new injuries or concerns.
- Try the weekly homework for maximum benefit.
Don't just take my word for it... read what other group members have said...
"Besides providing a 'Victoria Woods' experience on a weekly basis, Cath is the most enthusiastic and well-motivated teacher I have seen. Her bubbly personality does not mean she does not give attention to detail, on the contrary, her technical knowledge and professional supervision is excellent"
THE Ann Parker. Initially attended a one-day workshop, but loved it sooo much she came to group classes, but then work tore her away. She makes up her lack of attendance by using the ‘Pilates by Numb3rs’ packs at home and when she works away.
“Pilates has improved my flexibility in everyday tasks and greatly reduced any backache I have had in the past”
JC, Preston, continues with weekly classes.
“My stomach muscles are stronger and I am more aware of my posture. Other stuff as well!!!”
Elaine D, Longridge, continues with weekly classes.
“[Pilates] Has generally reduced frequency of back pain. I can now get out of bed and stand up straight with very little pain – I used to sometimes be unable to stand straight without pushing up on the furniture”.
Kate, Preston continues her workout (which helps to keep her back pain at bay) using the Pilates by Numb3rs home exercise programme).
